A gem of a museum. Small, but well designed and detailed. And yet, it it brings to mind Irish architecture - it must be the bricks.

A serendipitous find, but from Google images, the interior looks even better then I could make out at the time. If there hadn't been a seminar going on, I might have tried to talk my way in. Google images leave the impression of a church or chapel weather then a seminar room.

A wonderfully detailed exhibition, the largest architectural exhibition I have ever encountered - but one could not expect less from the land of Architects.
Le Corbusier, National Museum of Western Art

Walked around the entire museum without knowing it was designed by Corb, think this is brilliantly designed museum..walk into the shop and see his signature next to a sketch. I should have known.
The extension is also of high quality, a supporting act, in no way detracting or overshadowing Corbs masterpiece.

I have no idea why this building is so over engineered, other then that Japan is a country of earthquakes -but even so, the facade of structure seem extreme, intriguing, but extreme..
